Very picturesque and ornate inside. Centrally located in the city. Although parking next to it is limited there are several parking areas close by. The main part of the city is well within walking distance with cafes everywhere. Catholic Mass was at 0930.

From the outside it looks bigger than it is but it still is a nice little church and definitely is worth the walk up there. Not all doors are always open. So try them all if one is locked.

The main altar - Barock Masterpiece - by Schwanthaler & Zuern will always be considered the real attraction in this church. However, be sure to take note of the Ceramic Madonna above the entrance to the south porch. Quite understated.

A small, but beautifully looked after church in Gmunden. There is a description and a bit of history in a number of languages just under the pulpit. Well worth the visit.

Located just a short walk from downtown Rathaus we went here for Ash Wednesday. Outside the church looks like an average church. Inside however is beautiful. Old and ornate. You will find the craftsmanship superb and all kinds of history in the books and pamphlets....More
