About The Alpaca Loom Coffee Shop & Weaving Studio
Enjoy our decadent cakes and a cup of freshly brewed coffee at the coffee shop, while taking in the stunning views of the alpaca herd and Table Mountain in the background. Watch our weavers at work, interact with the alpacas and all the other animals in the petting zoo and have your kids use up all that pent-up energy on the jungle gym or go on an Alpaca Barn Tour. Since 2004, the alpaca herd has grown substantially to over 350 animals. The wool is sent for spinning and is then either hand-woven or woven on a mechanical loom in small runs on the actual farm. At The Alpaca Loom we produce a variety of woven scarves, shawls, blankets and rugs using the beautiful range of natural colours that our alpacas produce. Open daily: 09:30 to 17:30 Alpaca Barn Tours: Meet our alpaca herd up close and find out more about this special animal and its luxurious fiber. Every hour on the hour Alpaca Walks: Explore the farm accompanied by an alpaca on a halter. Daily at 10:00 & 16:00

What a lovely place to visit! My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed being in and around the Alpacas. Great to also take the very informative guided tour, which included access to see the new born babies which were only 5 days old! There is a small coffee shop, a weaving studio and a lovely gift shop with some beautiful Alpaca wool products for sale. I also enjoyed the fact that it hadn't been made too commercialised. I would highly recommend.

Good for kids, nice play area with space to run around. Lama tour was informative and the guide knew answers to all questions raised. Coffee shop was fairly priced with good variety of hot drinks, cooldrinks and cakes. Overall an enjoyable outing.

When you can't travel to South America..but still want to have a new experience then visit the Alpaca Loom. Animal lovers are in for a treat since these Alpaca's are super cute. Visit during March to May and you will are guaranteed to see some baby Alpaca's (or cria). Since you will spend most of your time outdoors it is easy to take COVID precautions. Visit on the hour and join a tour to the barn. You can feed the alpacas and then go to Spice Route for a drink or for lunch - it is a nice outing. And did I mention they are super cute!
