- 111TWIGAMINHAAFRIKABristol, United Kingdom7,800 contributionsGoats, Wine and cheese...Home of the goat, that splendid tower, the cheeses their produce and a combined wine tasting. Fine tasting rooms, very enjoyable wines paired with cheeses all conducted by a very bright, enthusiastic and knowledgable young man, Marco, I think his name was- brilliant. The dessert wine was so good we purchased a bottle to bring back to England.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 9 November 2023

- Vanessa BAlberton, South Africa70 contributionsRelax and unwind at Fairview Wine and CheeseWhat a beautiful setting. Gardens are lovely and green. Got to have a delicious lunch. My daughter and I had pizza, which was absolutely delicious, and hubby had the homemade chicken pie, which he said was yummy. Got to buy some Fairview cheese for a snack at home. The goats were a treat to see, and the little ones were so cute.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 3 February 2024
- Richard MPretoria, South Africa11 contributionsAlways a great visitFairview is a great staple vineyard to go to. Great wines and great atmosphere. Do try the sweet red, slightly fortified and a superb dessert wine. I was skeptical at first but I always buy when I'm here. Today we had Imke as our wine host and she was spectacular. Despite being new she was knowledgeable, really made us feel welcome and it completed our excellent experience with a cherry (well cheese) on top!Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 15 February 2024
- Martie1SJohannesburg, South Africa135 contributionsFairview Deli worth a visitThe Fairview deli is amazing. I took a chance to find an open deli on a Sunday before flying back to buy gifts for a foodie and Fairview did not disappoint. What a range. What lovely products. Thank you to the ladies who packaged my purchases so that I could fly with no worries of something breaking.Visited April 2024Travelled soloWritten 25 June 2024
- Pebbles111330 contributionsFabulous in every way 🧀🍷What a fabulous find ! Myself and a group of friends were doing a ' tour' of local vineyards and this was the first ( and in my mind the best) stop. Tucked away off the main road, Fairview offers great wine & cheese tasting experiences, set in a wonderful deli. There was so much amazing food and drink available to buy, I could've spent a fortune in there! We were looked after by a lovely young lady called Victoria, who was friendly, welcoming and professional. We didn't book ahead of our visit but nevertheless, we were welcomed straight away. Victoria made us feel very relaxed and we throughly enjoyed our wine & cheese experience. We didn't feel at all rushed and Victoria was on hand to answer any questions we had. Staff are the " face " of any business and honestly, Victoria is an absolute credit to you. Outside the deli are some cute goats to make a fuss over and great views across the beautiful landscape. Prices are so reasonable....and yes, I stocked up on as much wine & cheese as I could carry 🍷🧀😀. Yes, I'll definitely be back and I'd thoroughly recommend others to pay a visit. Thank you so much.Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 24 July 2024

Always great to visit Fairview. Booked for lunch at Goatshed , and although a good looking shortened menu for lunch , was really disappointed in the value for money proposition. The menu was a delight but what was presented was not as delightful , and certainly not value for the “bucks” you pay. The burger I ordered was no more than a frikadel on a bun!!!
As our first restaurant outing since lockdown , and really looking forward to some great restaurant food , disappointing.

We did a wine tour of the area visiting multiple farms and vineyards. Fairview was our favorite. Not just because the wines and cheeses were delicious, but because of our sommelier. Dierdre was knowledgeable, energetic, fun and funny and you could tell she love what she was doing. She made learning about and tasting wines such an enjoyable experience.

This was a great wine tasting experience for our family…Yep you heard it right - our family! We have two kids under age of 8, didn’t know how we were going to accomplish this day of tastings. As soon as we got in the property, someone greeted us as they were going from the wine room to the restaurant and told us about the “kids tasting”. It was a lifesaver. Gave our two boys something to laugh and talk about, while given us a moment to be guided through the great selection they have. Curt - our wine guide/barista/storyteller was great! He kept us entertained and shared spot on nuances between the different tasting pours and the cheese/meat.
Being from the US, I don’t see the appeal to the family experience in most tours so they have set a new bar for me.
Great job hosting team and Curt! Thank you for being awesome.

My husband and I had the pleasure to visit Fairview wine and cheese farm on our recent visit to the Western Cape. It was a real treat to see the goats roaming in the Goat tower.
We had lunch at the Goatshed restaurant which was exquisite (see my separate review of The Goatshed).
We went to the tasting room to order a few cases of wine (to be couriered home). The friendly female host that assisted us with our purchase presented us with a taster glass of the Goats do Roam white wine which we immediately added to our order. We also bought 2 bottles of Fairview’s The Grenaches Grenache Blanc 2020 which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The Deli was well stocked and boasts a wide variety of products. We bought grape jam which was delicious.
The gardens are immaculate and and we were thrilled to see a squirrel.
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at Fairview wine estate.

Out of our whole trip to the Cape , fairview by far was the worst experience. We should have stayed at Spice route who have a 10 out of 5 rating, amazing set up and experience and super friendly staff. The restaurant staff as we stepped in were rude could not find our booking, and could not give 10 sh.ts. the menu was poor and out of date on today's trends.
They have a long way to go in my eyes who have run 5 star establishment for over 18 years.

Went to the tasting room in downtown Stellenbosch. We did the 6 wines 6 cheese tastings. The wine were all excellent and our server had a story and history for all 6 wines. 3 whites 3 reds. All of the six cheeses were unique, 4 goat and 2 cow cheeses. The goat cheese were all accent with herbs & or fruits. They also supplied a basket of fresh bread bites and olive oil. It was like a full lunch at only 75 rand per person, a real bargain

This wine farm was an awesome adventure, although it was busy it was worth the wait. Usually busy is a good sign and my group Zebra Adventures (10 people) was willing to wait. The wait gave us time to look around at the beautiful landscape and just have a relaxing wait. The wine tasting was an adventure itself and I felt the cheese matched perfectly. Our wine host was extremely knowledgeable about both the cheese and the wine. The wines I tasted were so perfect and I ended up buying 2 bottles out of the several I tasted.

Fantastic restaurant. Dining al fresco on the terrace. food could not be faulted and was praised by us four dining there as a family. Reasonably priced as well. Nomla was a lovely waitress and worth a mention. Squirrels abound so hold on to your bread if you order or he will make off with that, such a bold creature, but funny :-).
Dont miss the cheese shop either. a real treat for cheese lovers and with goats cheese made on site with their own goats' milk.
The goats are gorgeous and are in an open area with a goat tower for them to climb. just adorable.
