Guided tour with Ms. Iza (unfortunately only in Polish) was the most unique experience I ever had in my life. Her narration is so unique yet iconic, it'll leave you sad that the castle is still in reconstruction because whole thing is just too short.

The castle was originally built in 1433. It had been damaged through the years but now, Based on the preserved plans of the fortress, found in the archives in Saint Petersburg, the residential part of the castle has been restored. Well worth a visit....

This is an interesting place, and I would like to explore more when it is open. We were able to see the walls under construction and wander around the courtyard a little, but despite the signs and internet telling us it was open in November during the week, we didn't find the museum or anything except the restaurant open. Since we were there in the morning, we did not eat there.

Newly rebuilt castle with a lot of history. It was completely destroyed and is being rebuilt true to history. You can either walk around see it from outside or take a guided tour which I recommend. There is a restaurant in case you're traveling hungry.

Famous castle, place where King Sigismund of Poland died (his Italian wife Queen Bona also stayed here), destroyed by the Russian army in the 19th century, now almost fully rebuilt. Really good restaurant - haute cuisine!

Worth a 10 min stop - to complete the amazing history of Tykocin and area... In combination with the Church and the synagogue gives an amazing insight into Polish history.

Although the castle has just more than 10 years, its origins dates back to XVI century. Hardly anyone knows, that the Tykocin Castle can boast about interesting history - this is the place, where Polish king Zygmunt August met Barbara Radziwiłł, giving the beginning to the one of the most moving romantic histories, where The White Eagle Order was established, where the vast majority of the national arsenal was located. Maybe this history prompted Polish businessman to rebuild the castle? I was under impression, that this man put a lot of his private money in order to restore the glory of this place.

There are no furnished rooms to visit, not so many historical stuff, but the guide talks so convincing and vivid about the castle, that you can imagine all the things you can not see.
