Visited Downside as we enjoy visiting Ampleforth Monastery regularly in Yorkshire.
The Abbey is very majestic but a humbling place for reflection and solitude. We enjoyed our short but much needed quiet visit.
We had time to tour through this beautiful old cathedral with beautiful arches and windows. We celebrated Mass in the Crypt which made our visit very special. We find the people from the church very accommodating and interesting as they tell us about the history...More
We were staying round the corner from here so decided to take a look. We were impressed by the grand scale and beautiful architecture of the building. It was getting dark so everything was closed but definitely worth a visit!

We stumbled across this surfing on the web. it's a beautiful Abbey in the grounds of the school. It has its own little car park. It has many little chapels and wonderful stained glass. Definitely worth a visit.
