Visited Downside as we enjoy visiting Ampleforth Monastery regularly in Yorkshire. The Abbey is very majestic but a humbling place for reflection and solitude. We enjoyed our short but much needed quiet visit.

We were staying round the corner from here so decided to take a look. We were impressed by the grand scale and beautiful architecture of the building. It was getting dark so everything was closed but definitely worth a visit!

We stumbled across this surfing on the web. it's a beautiful Abbey in the grounds of the school. It has its own little car park. It has many little chapels and wonderful stained glass. Definitely worth a visit.

The grounds and the school are private and can only be seen over a wall on the road; but you are able to visit the church. This is a fine building and well worth a visit.
