About
Rastatt Favorite Palace is the oldest German "porcelain palace" and the only one to survive almost unchanged to this day. Its opulent interiors, extensive collections and idyllic setting lend it significance on a European scale!

Beautiful surrounds

The place you would love to be visiting during summer with lots of open space. Great for family picnics, great walks, just lots of opportunities to enjoy life. I have now visited there twice.

A Unique & Oldest "Porcelain Palace" in Germany!!
Aug 2019
Built over 300 years ago, this "Porcelain Palace", located near Rastatt and the Black Forest, is not the only such Palace still in its "original form"-- but is also Germany's oldest... It is a "small Palace" with incredible furnishings, including a substantial collection of Chinese Porcelain- as well as German/Schwartz Porcelain and "Black Lacquer work". The guided tour is in German-- but their are descriptions available in other languages. The Palace also has a wonderful park surrounding it. It has also been awarded TripAdvisor's "Certificate of Excellence". It can also be visited as part of a "package" including "Residenzschloss Rastatt". It is definitely worthy of a visit.

I hope that this Review has been helpful.

Classical concert in the Schloss
Jul 2019
Attractive Schloss in the French style standing in an English Garden. We attended an evening classical concert in one of the painted rooms, walked around the grounds and had a lovely relaxing evening.

great place to visit near Rastatt
May 2019 • Family
The place is a very quite place, it has a big garden where you can walk around and spend you time in a relaxing mood, the palace can be repaired somehow as it looks quite old, but maybe this is the idea behind it....great place which I truly recommend.

a "porcelain palace" with exceptional tiled stoves
Jul 2018 • Friends
Driving from Paris, we hurried in for the very last visit of the evening. As mentioned elsewhere, most "small" castles cannot be visited freely, and you must wait for a guided tour, usually/mostly in German (whether you understand or not).
A wonderful beginning of our castle tour with unbelieveable tiled walls & stoves, a collection of Miessen porcelaine, an overwhelming "crystal" room of mirrors, porcelain and stucco . Well worth the rush to get here.

Nice castle and grounds
Jun 2018 • Couples
Nice castle, and the grounds are lovely for walking. Only problem I had was that you had to book a tour so you must wait for them to be ready to take a group. They also take your things and lock them up in a locker. As others have said it’s only in german so you want to jVe a german speaker with you. Not bad but not my favorite of castles.

We stopped at Schloss Favourite while driving from Rastatt to Baden Baden and loved joining Germans of all ages taking in the scenic stroll.

Pretty setting
Nov 2017 • Couples
Pretty castle to visit. Unfortunately it rained during our visit but we still enjoyed walking the grounds. The tour is only available in German with a small handout to follow along in other languages. The tour does take you back to a different time. Definitely worth taking.

Breakfast
Nov 2017 • Friends
Lovely surroundings and great walks. The breakfast was very good with if course the many choices of german rolls. If you are a coffee lover be sure to be specific about what type of coffee you would like. Asking for a pot of coffee seemed to bring something a little more weak than I preferred, I wondered if extra water had been added to an Americano. As I found the version in the pot a bit weak I ordered an Americano/ long black/regular coffee and it was a rich, strong and lovely morning brew.

Very disappointing
Sep 2017 • Couples
This palace advertises itself as owning the world's largest collection of porcelain in the world and is called the Porcelain Palace. What is not stated is that it is not on view to the public!!

Also the 55 minute tour was in German (not surprisingly) however the guide spoke no english and the English Notes supplied were useless - they did not cover every room and it was difficult to work out where they were talking about, also the notes were very basic and included very little of the interesting details.

It costs 8 Euros per person to go on the tour and unless you speak german I would advise against it.

On the positive side, The Grounds are beautiful and free and worth a walk around.
