Next door to the priory the church I see worth a visit. Excellent displays tell the story of the priory and the Howard’s.

We were visiting Lanercost Priory and entered the church as it was the nave of the priory originally. It was free to enter but donations are accepted. It was very peaceful and there were several old stained glass windows.

The church is part of the Lanercost Priory complex but it is clear that it is very much alive and active. Attractive architecture and lots of interesting historical insights. My grandchildren loved having the chance to light a candle and really enjoyed looking at the...More

Small church beside the priory ruins. Free to enter and has a small donation fee for photos. Quiet area and includes some good historical information inside.

Our first view was the impressive West front of the church, presumably because it was the entrance to the medieval Priory church. After entering the church the first thing that strikes you is the view of the ruins of the East end of the Priory...More

A lovely little church set in the middle of the former abbey. Lovely stained glass windows and lots of information about the church. Small donations, I am sure, are always welcome in the collection box.
