We found this archeological site tucked in the seaside town of Bacoli where we were visiting friends. We almost missed it. there was a phone number on door entrance which we called. The gentleman only spoke Italian, so We figured we would have a friend call to set up a time, since our Italian is very limited, the guy appeared 3 minutes later with keys and showed us the chambers! Perfect! Wonderful example of imperial catacombs.

This place had only just opened when my friend Monica Carranante first showed me this place. Fantastic to visit, but this place is not on the tourist map, so it is only visited by Italians which is a shame. I took many pictures and was pleased to have seen it.I visited this place in 2011 and that date is not on the "When did you visit" list. Well worth a visit.
