It was our first mirador visited at el Hierro and it was simply breathtaking. The weather was perfect and we could see the entire la Frontera region and the mountain chain. We also took an hour stroll along the ridge just to enjoy this beauty.
Good to know that from this mirador starts the hiking treck with the same name, which used to serve the only connection between parts of island before roads were built.

Combine the Mirador de Jinama with the Camino de Jinama. The best choice is to start at Campanario de Joapira (La Frontera - El Luchon): it's a wonderful hike to the top. Not easy, but so much more fun compared to going down only.
We went up to Mirador de Jinama, continued to San Andres, to Mirador de la Peña and back along the cliff to the Mirador and the Camino de Jinama. Going down requires more attention compared to going up.
You will not regret this hike!!!

This is a beautiful location in a very pastoral setting. We have been there 3 times and it was never crowded. On a sunny day the views are spectacular even if you do not walk down the trail. There are no bathrooms. A small ermita (church) is near the trailhead. It can be misty, windy and cool but even then the place is charming. We did not go very far on the trail, but it looked very interesting and probably worth doing if the weather is good. This was also a good place for birding especially a good place to see seed eating birds in the nearby agricultural fields.

Even in the mist you will be awed by the atmosphere. It was described in my walk guide as an art deco bus stop!

Long walk to the bottom. Great hike down. If you stop to admire the view and the stonework. Be careful

It's a nice trail, about 3 hours with panoramic views to the east and the west of the island and some other Canary Islands.

Great to have a picnic and enjoy the views, there is also a walk with fantastic views. Fresh water taps and and area to sit down and relax.

The views are spectacular mostly of the Eastern part of the are know as El Golfo. It may be Misty early morning so plan for the islands micro climates. Yes there is more than one!

The location consists of a lookout point, primarily across the eastern end of El Golfo. There is an open viewing/picnic area, a small chapel (which was locked when we visited), a disused agricultural building and the old road down to Frontera, which is steep and uneven. The road would make a good hiking route with spectacular views.
