This beautiful beach sweeps across the bay, the sand is fine and the sea clear. Beware however that the warnings about dangerous to swim really mean it. The sea level can change rapidly without big waves and the firmness of the sand is variable. Don't...More

What a stunning location! A couple of the caves on this awesome beach are accessible at low tide. The others would require a short swim even at high tide (we did NOT swim because the water was too cold and we didn’t bring wet suits.)...More

This is my definitely favourite beach so far! Beautiful white dunes, beautiful rock formations on the beach and caves!!! Some of the caves are accessible even on high tide, but the bigger one in the afternoon at low tide. Highly recommend.

My wife and I have not been here since our kids ( now adults)were small. In an era of global warming etc, it was nice to see Maghera beach remained the same even after 30 years. The caves were worn away some more but still...More

We passed through Ardara and decided to visit Maghera beach and caves. It was chilly but it is such a beautiful place, easy to find, quiet with majestic scenery.

Lovely beach, tide was in so seen only one cafe but worth. No sign of being charged for parking as others mentioned but maybe it was out of season. Definitely worth a look, waterfall on the drive in is beautiful.

We stayed in Ardara and this was about a 15 minute drive and well worth it. Walking across white sand dunes to see the wild Atlantic crashing onto the shore and then we ducked inside to have a look at the beautiful natural caves. If...More

The sand dunes, grasses blowing in the wind, caves, and sculptured rock formations make this finely sanded beach pretty darn sweet.

There were some boardwalk-type walks that got you out through the dunes, but to actually get out over the dunes and to the caves, it is all heavy sand. Depending on the time of day if you are able to get over the dunes, the... More

There weren't any obvious signs of a campground. Only the parking lot and path thru the dunes to the beach. I do know that there is an apartment that can be rented. Looks really nice.

There is a parking lot at these coordinates: 54.762501, -8.527440 From there, walk up the road toward a lone farm house. When you get there, there will be a gate to your right. That is the entrance to the beach.
