Great atmosphere and service with outstanding food. Went twice in three days and was amazed at the Goat's Cheese Quiche. Generous and delicious. The lemon Meringue Pie was the very best I have ever had. Even took a take away LMP to enjoy later. This...More

The Ardara Heritage Centre is based in the old Courthouse. It tells the story of Donegal tweed from sheep through to the well-known Donegal cloth. Ardara was built on the tweed industry so this museum is well worth a visit. The building also contains the...More

A good breakfast to keep you going for the day, with a reasonable price. Pleasant service by the table waitress, though the girl on the till could do with a brush up on genuine courtesy and pleasantries. She didn't appear to be having a good...More

Very little to offer as far as things to see and information about the area. It was hard to find it open for visitors, and then the attendants were not super informative. The place could use upgrading, expansion, and added artifacts, literature, videos, etc.

Sheila's cafe is the highlight of the heritage centre and possibly all of Ardara, the food is outstanding, Apple centred buns are out of this world.

We only learned of the Heritage Center after arriving at our lodging. We are so glad we visited the Center. It gave such a wide range of information about Ireland and the Irish people.

We visited the Heritage Centre on several occasions while on holiday in the Ardara area. Our favourite food there was their excellent seafood chowder. We did not experience any of the flies that "annechaircovers" had to contend with during her visit but maybe the flies...More

Going through the tiny tourism office you enter the Heritage Centre which seems to consist of loads of display boards showing random photos of people with rather confusing headings and information about them. I couldn't quite work out how the different boards / photos linked...More
