We took the DART to the end in Howth, and visited the small fishing town, and on to the Cliff Walk. What a lovely walk, took about 90min to walk around the point, some elevation and some parts were a bit rough trail, but the...More

If the heather was in bloom my review might be different, because you can forget about rocky terrain and slippery slopes when the heather is in bloom. Nice views though and very crowded in a weekday. Walked from the dart by the boats and adjacent...More

Their maps are useless, the colors don’t even match up with the trail map on the route, and the markers for the green trail disappear en route. We met up with 3 couples who were just as confused as we were. The views were pretty...More

Howth represents the perfect location where to go if you want to escape from the chaos of The Capital without traveling for too long and without spending too much money on transportation. You can get there in around 35 min. by takin the train (DART)...More

We walked uphill along a road, probably went the longer route, straight up...phew. So we didn’t walk out to the lighthouse, but the cliff top path on the way back to Howth was wide and an easy walk. If you are fit it’s a wonderful...More

This is a beautiful seaside hike that offers a variety of views and and amazing diversity of vegetation. We visited in late summer, and the wildflowers were amazing (heather, wild morning glories, many other things I don't know the names of). I have never seen...More

Very easy to get to, take the Dart to the end of the line. I went on an unseasonably warm bank holiday, and the Dart was packed with everyone else having the same idea. Once you are in Howth, there are restaurants, stores, and coffee...More

Started on the trail head across from the dart. Medium challenge as incline all the way up and lots of rocks. Multiple paths to choose from once out of the bottom depths. Golf course view is gorgeous and the summit peak is worth the trek....More

It is possible to hike the trail late December. However, if it is a rainy, wet day, it will be muddy and slippery.
