The courtyard area is currently closed for renovations and because of that there was no admission. We participated in a short tour and our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. While not a large castle as some on TripAdvisor have indicated it was packed...More

This castle has been undergoing a renovation for many years, and it is very well done. The price of admission was free, and we also received guided tour. The tour guide was very informative, and she brought a ton of knowledge to the tour.

Visited here recently, ad I had wanted to for a while. Some of the main courtyard and battlements are closed for refurbishment. This isn't a large castle, so quite a quick visit, half hr mabey at best. If the courtyard and battlements are open again...More

The Castle is located on Lough Gil, it was closed at the time, reopens the end of March, but was nice on the outside and from what we could see the inside looked good, they have tours. We'll definitely go back when it opens !!!

I found the lake and the surrounding area of more interest. The castle was closed when I visited so I can only comment on the exterior which was a little drab.

The Rose of Innisfree boat tour left from in front of Parkes Castle so this was the perfect opportunity to explore both on the same trip - and I am so glad I did. Although small, this is definitely worth visiting...

We visited this castle today after the Marble arch caves. It's an enchanting place that gets the mind going on how things used to be. The kid's were given a little treasure hunt to do while walking around and they loved it.
