Travelled to Drumcliff Church and Graveyard to visit WB Yeats grave. I love his poetry and wanted to visit his final resting place. The Church is very pretty with some beautiful detail, like the door handles. The Grave is to the left of the church...More

An idyllic resting place in this peaceful churchyard under the magnificent Benbulben Mountain. The gift shop and cafe are exceptional with something there for all lovers of Yeats and life.

We visited the graveyard and spotted the map where it gives you directions to where W.B Yeats grave is. It is close to the church on the end of a row. You could readily walk past it as it doesn't stand out. However, just outside...More

An interesting stop for any poetry lovers. The church is worth a look too. Only just off the main road, free parking and a small cafe/shop makes it a great rest stop too.

We were driving from Sligo to Derry and noticed a sign pointing out the grave of WB Yeats. The grave is well kept. Yeats loved Sligo. If you like Yeats' poetry, it's worth a sentimental journey.

W>B> Yates is buried here in a graveyard of and old monastery and church. His site is at least taken care of, whereas many others are in disrepair.

A picturesque cemetery and cathedral in Drumcliffe is the final resting place of one of the world's finest poets. The grounds and cathedral is a short hop from Sligo. A must-see for writers, poets, and those who love great poetry.
