Had the privilege of taking the zip wire yesterday, i was a little nervous but the staff were so friendly and were able to distract me enough before i was let go from the top platform! Once i got going the zipwire itself is amazing and such a great experience, it really is like flying, i couldn't get the smile off my face for ages and could have happily got back on the ferry and gone again!

This is great fun and not as scary as it looks at first glance. Not many experiences like this, where you can "fly" from one country to another!Fantastic views as you skim over the Guadiana river and then land in Portugal, the 3 x 15 year olds on the trip loved it(min.age 14) and so did the 50 plus. A very professional operation and I would advise booking it online via their website as it is very popular especially in the Summer.Finished off a perfect day relaxing at the Praia Fluvial over in Alcoutim (see review) before returning to Tavira.

I was a little hesitant when I saw how high up the zip wire was, and had my son gone first he would be waiting for me in Portugal as I would have jibbed out and driven round! Couple of nice bars at the other side, for those who need a brandy afterwards. Staff all very friendly and reassuring. The boat ride back was a different story as the chap running it was nowhere to be seen. This was during trading hours and there was no timetable/contact number to be seen. We waited around for ages, then googled the firm in order to summons the captain, who was rather surly as we may have dragged him away from the pub?

What a fantastic experience! Everything was well organised & felt safe. Clear explanation about what to expect & what you should do. The actual "jump" is exhilarating. We wanted to do it again!! We recommend you book in advance as it can be busy even in October.

We booked on the day a few hours before but would recommend pre booking. We went in October so it wasn’t too busy. We were staying in the Algarve so travelled up to Alcoutim, a pretty hillside Village on the river Guadiana. If you are driving allow plenty time to park as parking is limited. We crossed over the river on the little ferry, only a few minutes. The boat drops you off by the booking office where they equip you with your harness before taking you by minibus up to the starting point. After a brief safety talk you are on your way! It was great fun a s so well organised. They have a photographer who takes your picture as you approach the Portuguese side. There is a small charge and it can be downloaded online, (though not available on Apple). We would highly recommend having a go.
