I visited Trematon Castle garden with five friends. As a keen gardener, I was really looking forward to viewing this garden. It cost us £7 each to enter; we were given a map to find our way around. I'm sure that once upon a time...More

We visited recently and found this to be a sad and confusing place with the potential to be lovely. Located in a prime spot overlooking the estuary and with a ruined castle this seems to be an unloved project awaiting completion. Not much to see...More

The Bannermans have been responsible for some stunning garden designs and their own garden at Hanham Court was superb. We were therefore somewhat disappointed with what they have done so far with Tremanton. This is a beautiful old ruined castle and lends itself to romantic...More

Not the biggest CAstle complex but or so interesting and worth every penny of the entrance fee. Add the great Tea Shop with great tasting teas and coffees, beautiful home made cakes and it is an amazing afternoon out. Do not miss it.

Romantic setting, garden tastefully designed and sitting wonderfully naturally amongst the castle remains with amazing views. Friendly owners and tearoom staff member. Really loved it and will tell our friends as well as visiting regularly. Thank you!

Love this garden - stunning roses and peonies in abundance. Cracking herbaceous beds. Awesome views. Bits of wackiness dotted around. Lovely staff. And a castle too. What's not to like!!

First but by no means my last visit. The fragrance of roses in the air was breathtaking along with the riot of colour. For me the wild daisies and grasses intermingled with roses growing through trees, more organised borders and a profusion of peonies just...More

We visited Trematon Castle and Gardens on a hot and sunny June day. The ancient walls were covered with roses and when you walk through the gateway towards the house ,built in regency times. we were assailed by the scent of many roses. After walking...More

Trematon Castle is a real find, quiet and peaceful. The Bannerman's have created a lovely and very unusual garden around this stunningly well preserved Norman castle - thought to have been built by William the Conqueror's brother-in-law. Well worth a visit but don't expect a...More
