What is the point of such a structure when it is so easily missed? It should have been far bigger. Waste of money

At first when I saw it I could'nt work it out, But close up I saw it for what it is. Really lovely and a pretty spot to sit and take in the view. Ideal too being close to Ashtore Tea rooms.

Nice idea. Agree with many of the comments both ways from other reviews. Share the surprise that something intended to last is corroding so quickly. My friend got several marks of her jacked caused by contact with the brown uprights and many of the narrative...More

I score it high because it is different. Quaint too. Not quite weird. A bit light hearted maybe? Tongue in cheek even? In a drab and often too commercial world this is a welcome novelty.

It looked rusty but I don't think it was. The head and hair of the 'boatman' reminded me of the logo of the Wella Hair products range. The riveted on metal plates with the historical stories images and anecdotes seemed a bit mixed and patchy...More

Unveiled last week, this unusual piece is intended to recall the succession of ferry crossings at this point by the old slipway under the railway and road bridges linking Saltash and the Devon bank opposite, said to have operated continuously for 900 years until the...More
