If there were to be a special prize for wasting public money, this edifice would win hands down. It doesn't do anything, it isn't real and falls squarely into the plastic flowers category for absolute naff. Cornwall is awash with real granite crosses so how...More

Placed in 2013, the Cornish Cross is an art project and not, as some would believe, a heritage site. Made out of composite materials the £650k project, designed by a Cornish artist, represents Cornwall's history and marks the gateway to Cornwall. The location of the...More

As a local I see this monstrosity everyday. It cost an absolute fortune - no matter where the money came from it could have been better spent! Finally it should have been placed in a better position.

I really liked this sculpture it caught my eye shinning in the sun. Well situated as it is very visible from the town.

Disappointing response to this impressive sculpture, perhaps due to its location to the right of the bridge as you enter Cornwall - may easily be missed by travellers. When approaching on foot, the circular Cornish slate circular base was a highlight for me, along with...More

Supposed to be a landmark but someone forgot to put it somewhere anyone would notice it. The structure is OK and in a nice setting for a picnic but is it a landmark? It's all about location as they say.

As we live in Saltash we thought it was about time we took a good look at the cross. First thing to say is that we walked to it from home and kind of blundered into the entrance. Although it stands loud and proud the...More
