Beautiful day out and a good walk along the river. Stop for lunch there as the shops are nearby. Enjoyed watching birds and ducks along the river. Car park wasn't too far. There you will also find the love bridge full with love locks.

Monsal head is one of the side routes off the main Monsal Trail and is well worth a detour if you have the time. Stunning views are what await you.

Most of Bakewell’s carparking is across the river Wye and the town has to be accessed across a footbridge. The Wye is surprisingly broad and absolutely stuffed full of the largest rainbow trout I have ever seen in such a central location. It takes one...More

River Wye is a lovely tranquil river with crystal clear water so you can admire the trout within. Vole abound on the river banks and if you're lucky you might spot a kingfisher. Enjoy!

A better bet would be to park in Baslow and walk around the Chatsworth estate. That's better for pushchairs and there are several excellent pubs and restaurants in Baslow.
