The first time that we had visited this small museum, I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the exhibits, they have a very old well polished cradle, cheese press and WW1 and 2 memorabilia Well worth a visit if you are in Skipton...More

We were in the town hall then found out the museum was attached. It is very modern and located on the first floor. Light clean and airy... Full of history. Worth the £2 suggested donation.

Covers a lot- from various forms of mining to Shakespeares First Folio. World Wars, medieval and ancient history, all sorts of interesting life in Craven artefacts. Stories about notable residents. All sorts of other stuff to. Definitely worth a visit.

So much more interesting than you could imagine, a wide variety of exhibitions from a first folio of Shakespeare's to local curios.

Although we had visited Skipton a couple of times we had never visited the museum until this visit. It's lovely... very small but for its size more than worth a visit and DEFINATELY worth the £2 suggested donation per adult!!

We visited on a rainy morning with a 2 year old in need of distraction. The museum is free but asks for a donation. The museum has lots of very child friendly features... a colouring table, a rubbing stand linked to local fossils, a child...More

This museum has it all, at the moment they have one of the first Shakespeare books on display, the wooden mice found in churches, Olympic paraphanalia, artefacts, witch stones, and loads more. The museum is very informative and there is so much to see.
