The new Tap Yard is so so great!
Aug 2021
Huge fan of Skinners brewery already, as our favourite pub (The Old Ale House) is a Skinners pub. The Tap Yard is such a great addition to the brewery and as it's under cover and has outdoor heaters, you can go whatever the weather's up to, which is handy being in Cornwall!

Friendly staff, beautiful space and a lovely different option if you fancy something other than the usual pub environment.

Good outside tap bar set up
Oct 2021 • Solo
Skinners Brewery is a short walk away from the town centre in Truro and now sports a newish outdoor drinking space which opened earlier this year. Branded the Tap Yard bar and cafe to give its full name, it is a large covered space with plenty of bench seating and wall heaters, and then a large serving bar that has several cask pumps and keg taps dispensing most of the current Skinners range.
You have to go inside for the toilets and here you will find the original Tasting Room with its views of the brewing equipment and the smaller Snug room still in situ for when the weather doesn’t allow outside drinking.
You can find all the same products in their city centre tap pub, the Old Ale House, but I thought the new external space was a good addition to the brewery and thought it worth the walk from the town centre to seek it out.
It’s closed on Sunday but open the rest of the week from 11am to 6pm and til 10.30pm on a Friday and Saturday.

Lovely beer
Sep 2021 • Family
Absolutely love all the skinners beers, the new seating area is great although we were charged £15 for a pint and 3 cans of coke, seems a bit steep. I always drop by when I’m in Truro for a mixed case….delicious stuff

Best brewery in the UK
Jul 2021
A wonderful brewery producing my favourite beers in the country. I have tried many-a-ale and cannot find a better beer than from this awesome brewery run by a wonderful family! Would recommend visiting as well as drinking as much of their beer as possible!

An excellent tour of Skinner’s Breweries
Mar 2020
We had a wonderful tour around this astonishing brewery , very good guide , a huge out put for a small brewery.
Very generous tasting of their produce at the end .

We were a chapter of Red Hatters and were treated like royalty .

Absolutely fantastic brewery tour 👍

Brewery tour won from a charity do by relatives.

Skinners Brewery is absolutely worth arranging a tour as its very respectful and positive tour.

Emma Thompson who runs the tour and shop is very respectful and absolutely positive and says they are number 3 brewery in Cornwall which has around 50 breweries.

Its based in Truro and so worth a tour everything is very nice 👍 🍻 😀

Brewery tour

Absolutely phenomenal value for money and wonderful way to spend a few hours. We visited the brewery on a rainy Tuesday with very little expectation and were delighted to find a warm and friendly staff to greet us with a pint awaiting. The quality of the beer is beyond reproach and both the tour guide Louise (the daughter of the CEO no less) and the barman, Jason were flawless. By far the best value for money of any distillery or brewery tour I have ever done. Cannot recommend enough.
