Some really interesting exhibits including the Dagenham Idol (a thousand years earlier than Stonehenge). Plus Roman history, Barking Abbey, the local fishing fleet (hugely important before Grimsby), the Fanshawe's including Queen Elizabeth I Remembrancer. Plenty of car parking, well sign posted, surrounded by parkland, cafe...More

I love to visit here every now and again.its so fascinating all of the rich history we have in this borough and there's always something you've missed/overlooked on a previous visit. They put on good events too like the war reenactment .

This is situated in the park, but as there are always young people, especially guys hanging around on mopeds that make you feel unsafe I would not recommend this place for mums with young children.
