Hidden wood in the clouds Have visited Sharpenhoe Clappers day before Remembrance Day, in mid-autumn to discover not only beautiful woods but also a monument dedicated to fallen brothers. "Sharpenhoe Clappers Was bequeathed to the National Trust by W.A. Robertson in memory of his brothers...More

This is a very accessible prominent hill with several tracks through trees and fields. It is run by the NT with a small car park. The views of the surrounding area are spectacular.

What a lovely place. Managed by NT. Walk up through the lovely beech forest. As it was autumn we found ourselves crunching our way through the beech nuts underfoot! Great views of the surrounding countryside. We were lucky and had a beautiful blue sky and...More

Really stunning views once up on the top of the clappers! Lovely place to get a breathe of fresh air.

The views are the best part of the walk but there's also some lovely trees. Unfortunately when we were there there was quite a lot of rubbish on and off the tracks which rather spoilt the experience.

This is a lovely place to walk, peaceful and fantastic view. Good parking so no need to leave on the road.

The clappers is a great open space to take dogs and children for a walk. There are stunning views over the Bedforshire countryside on a clear day. Ideal for picnics in the summer

Starting at the car park there are plenty of signs saying which path to take and for how long you wanna take it ( ranging from 1 to 3 hours, if I remember correctly). Lovely walks, keeping to the paths, and all easily signed every...More

This area has multiple paths, which is a bit confusing-- the map is the parking area is no help because the orientation is not oriented to the ground-- to get to the Waddenhoe Clappers, squeeze to the opening on either side of the gate to...More
