This garden was a pleasant surprise. Placed in the shadow of the chateau, it honours Canadian soldiers who partook both in Operation Jubilee, the disastrous raid in 1942, and the liberation of Dieppe in 1944.

This museum is not for the faint hearted and is not that big. Staff are very motivated. Recommended at the end of stay in Dieppe as it makes the attack more real. The highlight for me was French newspaper report of attack

The people that run this memorial museum give and present an excellent story of the disastrous raid on Dieppe. The give a good speech of how the raid brought hope to the area that liberation would come. The story is present with a wide array...More

For a Canadian visiting Dieppe, this is an essential stopping point. It is well designed to evoke tears.

A great tribute to those who lost their lives for me and my generation. My visit was a part of mission I had been planning over 3 years. This was one location on our tour. Thank you for your sacrifice.

This small museum commemorates the unsuccessful raid by Canadian troops in August, 1942. Its most interesting feature is the video loop made up of interviews with survivors coupled with scenes for German records. The tragedy and futility of war could not be shown more effectively..

Sadly, far too few Canadians are aware of the 1942 Dieppe Raid and the significant toll it took on the Canadian Army. More than 5,000 Canadians took part in what was supposed to be a relatively straightforward raid of the Dieppe area to destroy key...More

Nice to see that our debt to the Canadians is acknowledged and the memorial so well kept. Easy to find as it's just off the beach and below the castle.
