The castle is well worth a visit. Lots of information about the castle through the centuries, and beautiful views from the roof. A gem of history preserved very well. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This could be a lovely place to visit, it’s actually a fascinating location with plenty of history. Unfortunately the castle is run by Hampshire Council and felt very uncared for. The lady on duty wasn’t there when we arrived, a note said she’d be back...More

This was a great visit! It's a tiny fort but steeped in history from the mid 1500's - hard to imagine that it's origins are from Henry Vllll (as are many other forts in the Hampshire/Solent area; protecting our shores). Lovely gentleman welcomed us where...More

We were warmly welcomed and given a potted history of the castle. The castle was very atmospheric and the displays linked in to the history of the castle. We found the section on the flying boats very interesting. The icing on the cake was the...More

Person on the entrance was very helpful and knowledgeable, it's a great walk round going in to barrack rooms and you can go up to the top , is goes right back to Tudor times , well worth a visit

I had an interesting 1/2 hour here. There is an exhibition of RAF and Navy on the ground floor with paintings, photos and models. Other than that, there isnt much else to see, but I enjoyed the sea views from the top of the building.

Paid a visit with my teenage son. We've been to a number of forts along the south coast and this is by far the smallest. However it wasn't expensive to enter and the chap looking after the shop was very enthusiastic and chatty about the...More

Thank you for your comments Gary B. There are toilets and a small gift shop at the Castle selling ice cream and souvenirs but the Activities Centre has more toilets and a bigger shop as well as a café/bar.
