Its a bot of a challenge to reach the peak at the tomaree head. But you won't get disappointed, stunning views 360 degrees. Always use good hiking shoes as the walking path is not even and slippery when wet.

April Trip - My daughter and I trekked up the steep walk (bit of a warm day) but the view up the top was spectacular. Jets flying overhead were a bonus. If in the area you must do this walk - it can get a...More

What a great walk/climb to the summit and then to the gun emplacements - about 1 1/2 hours total for this 74 year old couple! It is a steep walk and then many metal ladders to reach the top - but it is worth the...More

Definitely add this near the top of your list in the area. Yes, many steps but take it slowly if not fit or agile and you will be rewarded with amazing views. Plenty of resting spots on the way up and down. Take your camera.

This is a great, $0 activity to do when in the Bay. Walked it with my 11yo son and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Some steep steps to walk to the summit but very manageable and saw many families with much younger kids doing the walk....More

Worth the 30min hike to the top to see the beautiful view. We took our toddler in a baby carrier which was fine. The lookouts at the top are not secure or fenced, so keep an eye on your kids if you let them loose!

There were plenty of kids doing it! Personally i wouldnt want to take a child under 6, you'll be carrying them. Its probably best suited from 8+ they all seemed to be having fun... i look forward to taking our kids back up... More
