Worth visiting Whinlatter Forest Park just for the cafe which has a good range of food including vegan options. Cafe also dog friendly. We make a day of it having lunch at the cafe, going for a walk in the forest along well marked trails...More

All of the people we came across on our visit to the Lakes were friendly and helpful and the visitor centre at the Whinlatter Forest was no different. I couldn't see the Ospreys this year (no female) but I did do a wonderful and wonderfully...More

Beautiful forest with a variety of trails for all abilities. I am not a confident walker but challenged myself to a ‘Moderate’ trail which I completed no problem. Lovely cafe with a good selection of food and friendly staff, although it was on the pricey...More

On arrival, we visited Siskins Cafe & had lovely cakes, coffees and hot chocolates, which set us up nicely; the cafe was clean & the service good. We opted not to tackle the most "strenuous" walking route as we were walking Catbells the next day....More

This place is brilliant. Most recently we have visited with our dog for a walk up to Seat How for one of the best views in the Northern Lakes. From the parks centre there is an easy route to follow following wayward markers. There are...More

For a cafe with so many staff (at least 7) the speed of service and organisation left a lot to be desired. Only one till being used, the outdoor service hatch being manned sporadically so the queue built up outside. I ordered my food and...More

About 10 to 15 minutes away. There are traffic lights set up on Penrith Road near Millfeild retirement home at the moment which causes some delays but hopefully they won't be there for much longer.
