We played also other courses on Mauritius near Flic en Flac and also near Bel Ombre but the condition of the Avalon golf estate (tees, fairways and greens) were the best. No dry areas at all and the landscape around was fantastic. Futhermore there were not so much people playing (as on other courses) and we could start immediately. I would recommend everybody to play this beautiful course. Having just endured a cyclone the quality of the course was very good, although quite wet in places. It is a Peter Matkovich Signature Course and the layout is suitable for all skill levels. (my Index is 3) Even in the "Rainy Season" (around Feb/March) the course is in amazing condition. Greens running about 11 on stimp. I played 4 times in Feb2024 an d only time there was no rain drizzle. It gets windy up there, so make sure to bring enough balls and check the sand conditions in the bunkers. Make sure to choose the appropriate set of tees, as the course can require some longish carries at times. We visited Avalon for our end-of-year event, and while the facilities and venue were nice, we were disappointed by the staff's UNPROFESSIONALISM. We had a game included in our package, and it is only on-site that we were informed we couldn't participate without a prior reservation, information no one had communicated to us. Despite reaching out to a person named Ash on several occasions for instructions on how to proceed with reservations. When seeking an explanation, no staff member responsible of this could face us and provide explanations (except Tesha from F&B who had to go back and forth and see with the other incompetent staff! ) , forcing us to spend considerable time searching for assistance. We had to leave our staff and sit in the reception office waiting for someone to come for more than 30 mins to be finaly assisted!! Additionally, an arrogant guy provided a lackluster golf demonstration, treating us disrespectfully as if were 'bane sans compran' and stating the fact that HE pays millions to maintain the grass at Avalon. The discourteous and unprofessional staff certainly does not match Avalon's excellent infrastructure and amenities, leaving us disappointed despite an overall enjoyable day.
Additionally, food is average. The burger was dry, the pasta tasteless and the fish ok! The 'sorbet' was uneatable. The smoked chicken salad was the only thing that was delicious and the mocktails were nice! We were looking forward to spend an enjoyable time with the team and left Avalon DISAPPOINTED!

Food was OK but not great for the price. Took children to the play area outside - we were told we had to leave because they can only clean it when it's sunny, and that it's not safe when it's wet. I can't understand how you'd have a playground that can't be used if it's either raining or not raining.

Great experience, we had the best time at the resto Magic spoon.. OMG, the foods were super yummy 😋 I would say next level ⭐️ and truly Magic.
All staffs ( the lady at proshop, the security/driver, waiters and Mr Ash) were very friendly and committed to great customer service. Especial thanks 🙏 to Mr. Kamal for entertaining, advising and go above and beyond to welcome us and make us feel comfortable.. kudos to him.!
The atmosphere, view n foods were awesome 🤩.

Too expensive!
The golf is pleasant, the staff very friendly but if you are not a member, resident or Mauritian the prices are exorbitant. We paid more than 14,000 rupees or almost €300 for 2 green fees and a cart!

Our trip to Avalon was a particular experience. Me, my wife and some friends enjoyed the calmness of the environment under a coat of glittering stars.
Among outdoor barbecues and self- catered homemade delicacies, those moments are forever engraved in our minds. Far from the traffic of business life, it was an ideal location to escape from the mental pollution.
The villa was clean and tidy with all facilities on our side. Our host Amelie was very professional and understanding.
It is a must for a time far away from the cities and under the blanket of starry skies; A poet’s nest.

The golf course is in really excellent conditions. I've played it in 2018 and it has developped tremendously. Excellent Fairways and greens (could be a nuance faster) and botanic surroundings. We booked golf at Avalon and Jenny offered us a warm welcomed when we arrived. The staff were very friendly and professional. We loved the personal service we were given! The course itself is suburb - I would definitely recommend it.

Here there is't accomodation, but around this area you can find some apartment. The area is The Black Gorge Natural Park elevated to the rest of the island the climate is different, it's more confortable. It's a place embedded in the nature, you could take some great walks in the forest looking for hidden waterfalls. But there are no services, restaurants and so on. You need a car to be here so you could easily reach LeMorne area (1 hour by car) or Bell Ombre area (20 minutes by car).
If you are interest in a secluted place to stay I suggest you a very new accomodation inside the 7 coloured earth, CHALETS CHAMAREL, very large apartments on the crest of a mountain behind Le Morne, really spectacular.
