I had an outstanding private tour of the American Cemetery and WWII beach landing sites and a second day where we visited the key landing points of the Allies plus the serene and beautifully understated German cemetery. Retired Birmingham policeman Malcolm has a degree in war history and is passionate about the history of WW II and the history on his backdoor. He has a knack for explaining things in an interesting way and focuses on an individual at key stages of the battle so that you can better understand what happened that day and try to put yourself into the shoes of those who fought on D Day. Time flew by quickly but he also prepared a velobinder of maps, pictures and key facts of what I had seen for me to take away. When asked by relatives of those who fought to give a tour, he does the research and even a dry run with his wife as a critic of the information he will present to the family. That is the level of passion and commitment you get when you sign up for Malcolm's tour. Malcolm is also happy to drive you to Mont St. Michel (45 minutes from the farmhouse that his wife runs as a Gite (French B&B), St. Malo (60 minutes from his Gite) and the Normandy Beaches are about 90 minutes from his B&B. I stayed in a delightfully cozy and clean studio and had breakfast and dinner with Malcolm and his wife, Alison, who runs the B&B and is an expert cook. Do yourself a favor and sign up for Alison's picnic hampers. Excellent, healthy home made food--Alison caters for vegetarians, etc. I came as a guest but left as a friend. I would be happy to join any tour Malcolm decides to run of another battlefield and recommend his tours highly.

HUGE thanks to Malcolm for an impressionable day. My husband and I truly appreciate Malcolm’s hospitality, knowledge, and expertise of the American sector D-Day tour. As much knowledge as we had of the war, Malcolm continued to impress us with a wealth of facts and statistics that we would have never known. He is a master of his craft and truly made a pleasant and unforgettable day despite the emotional plight that all veterans had to endure. I encourage anyone looking for a D-Day to look no further than Malcolm. He’s your man!

My husband and I booked a private tour of the American sector of D-Day sites with Malcolm, and I can't express how glad we are that we did! It was fantastic! Malcolm was so informative and engaging. He really brought history alive that day for us! He was highly accommodating and even took us to an extra stop that my husband was interested in seeing. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We opted for the picnic lunch prepared by his wife, Allison, and it was delicious as well! The weather was less than ideal the day of our tour with high speed winds and rain showers, so I was very appreciative that Malcolm still took us on the full tour and braved the weather conditions with us. The time flew by, and Malcolm even gave us a memento booklet with maps and some of the history that we learned on our tour so that we could make sure we always remember what we got to experience on our tour. I feel like this tour was one of the best travel decisions we have made! Thank-you Malcolm for an amazing day!
