A pleasant morning
May 2021
We came at 9 am on Tuesday and stayed 3+ hrs with 3 children 2-5 yrs. and going very slowly, repeating the circuit between each talk. We saw the nocturnal show at 10,the wild bird show at 11 and the croc talk at 12. This is a very small park. Best suited for young children . The animals seem well cared for, staff are friendly and look like they care about their work. The grounds are in a very natural environment. There were no crowds generally so easily navigated around. The shows are simple and ok. The most popular was the crocodile talk and by then a school group had come in .
There are many picnic tables for a BYO picnic.
Online it says you must buy tickets before you arrive. Nowhere does it state that tickets can be bought at the park and you can! This would have saved a lot of time and frustration on the eventbrite website they use. Also our entertainment book voucher couldn’t be processed online.
Personally I wouldn’t go again but do appreciate the effort and importance of keeping these wildlife places open for children to experience .

Excellent Park, Is a definite favourite.
Nov 2020
Excellent spot in Burleigh, nice to see animals in their own enclosures that mimic their natural habitat. The mangrove walk was excellent with a lot of information about the local aboriginal tribe. The paths were wheelchair accessible which was good. Favourite part was the wallaby walk and seeing this little wallaby come up and interact with my friends and I. I would highly recommend this any day of the week.

The show about the David Fleay and the woldlife park that we saw when we arrived was incredible. Seeing the birds in their natural environment was fabulous. I loved seeing the water python up so close.

Good but for the price Currumbin is better

It’s a good place to visit. But I wouldn’t choose it over Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Maybe if it was cheaper

I'm speechless. This park is amazing!
Dec 2019 • Couples
From start to the end, this park has surprised me and my husband. This is truly amazing for our wildlife, and you can see that all staff is passionate with what they do, and with the animals.
The reception lady was lovely, the animals are so happy and so healthy. We saw a few visitors feedem the animals, and the ladies promptly told them to stop! Bravo!
Visitors have presentations they can attend for free, from 9:30 to 15h. Great to get to know more about each animals life and history! Do you know most of the animals showed suffered some kind of accident and can no longer return to nature? That's why they're at David Fleay's wildlife Park, being fed and loved. As a Biologist I would not visit a zoo, and David Fleays wildlife park was the perfect match of my principles and the need to know Australia's wildlife. I would totally come back, recommend and help!

Brilliant

So many animals and birds free to come and go. Loved this. Many aviaries had free flight, good displays and caring staff. Grounds clean and tidy. Dragons running around everywhere and tawny frogmouths asleep in the trees. Loved it.

Half the price of Currumbin & Better!
Dec 2019 • Family
We were totally in shock at the price of entry to Currumbin so did a tiny bit of googling and found David Fleay’s!

For the half the price, 5% of the crowd and the mostly the same animals we were very pleasantly surprised and impressed by this park.

All the animals had huge enclosures. Only one seemed a bit upset to me which was a dingo pacing backwards and forwards in its paddock. The other dingo was sound asleep though.

I LOVED the nocturnal animal presentation. You can tell the ranger had a huge passion for the animals she worked with.

The cafe food was a bargain too and tasty, we were the only ones in the cafe at about 1030am. We were constantly shocked that there weren’t more people here!!

Also very easy parking, right at the bottom of the ramp in a huge carpark.

I would recommend coming a little later in the day if you have small kids, as the presentations with the animals were 1130am and 1pm from memory. Whereas we got there at 9am and it was too long to spend there to wait for the 1pm presentation.

As good as Currumbin but without the crowds
Nov 2019 • Couples
Lovely park, nicely set out and with plenty to see. Particularly nice to see a platypus, last saw them in the wild over 30 years ago. Beautifully set out enclosures with boardwalks around a central wetlands and waterhole. Bird display re-arranged due to strong wind gusts but the sea eagle, wetland birds and water python were very interesting.
