One of the best places i have ever been. Feels like you are in a fairy tale. Amazing buildings and drawings, cozy atmosphere everywhere despite the cold weather, nice cafes and shops..eveything perfect!

Like a time had slower pace in this town. By the autumn sun and wind, that made this town was so nice. Take a little break for the life here.

On our drive from Biel, Switzerland to Munich, Germany, we stopped for lunch in Stein am Rhein. The old town is quite charming with different architecture from what we had been seeing. It is near the border with Germany, so we could readily use either...More

When walking from the railway station, cross the bridge to find the old town. The medieval houses are filled with paintings and patterns. And I also find that folding knives "Victorinox" of this are the cheapest. If you want to buy souvenirs, you can buy...More

We visited Stein Am Rhine for the day and loved it. The painted houses are stunning. I’ve been all over Switzerland and this is definitely one of my favorite cities so far. Don’t miss visiting the monastery.

To visit this picturesque town is worth a short detour. Friendly, quiet and you can also take a boat tour on the Rhine from there. It is still a typical Swiss village with painted houses and even the manhole covers tell a story there.

A must visit if close by. Beautiful old town full of quaint shops & restaurants. One can easily spend half a day there & drive up to the castle for drinks.

Just as I had always envisioned an old Swiss village and then some. Right out of Pinocchio with history galore on painted old buildings. A real memory for both of us

Raja gave a great explanation of how to get there from Zurich. Train or car, either way depending on if you have a car. I also think the boat ride is well worth the money and drops you right in the heart of Old Town... More
