So Vevey - in addition to being the final resting spot of Charlie Chaplin - is also the headquarters of Nestle, world-famous (among other things) for its milk chocolate confectionaries. However, Vevey also houses a Laderach store, a family-owned chocolatier and considered the premium chocolatier in Switzerland (kind of like an anti-Nestle, I like to think). At any rate, I've been searching for a high-quality boutique chocolatier ever since my favorite Belgian one (Manon) sadly closed a number of years ago. Nothing has ever matched Manon's standard imo - until I tried Laderach. It is very very good and very similar to what I had with Manon. I chose an assortment of Laderach's chocolates and truffles - and they had a terrific assortment such that I agonized and despaired over which ones to select - and brought them carefully home in my carry-on. My wife and I ceremoniously opened the box, partook of a couple each - and omg, what fine chocolates these are! Rich buttercream fillings, strong coffee flavors, dusky dusty truffles - can't wait to return for more! I hear they've opened a store in New York City, so will be checking that out over the holidays!

I attended a chocolate making workshop. I had a delicious time. Yup, I sampled lots of chocolates, learned about the chocolate making process and was able to create my own chocolate bar to take home. Of course I had to purchase souvenirs for my friends and family at reasonable prices. I must admit I came back to the hotel slightly buzzed from all of the sugar ingested. But it was totally worth it! Thanks for a great experience.

There are not many who will be able to resist this fantastic display of one of the best Swiss chocolates available - from Laderach! This store also displays chocolate making process, provides chocolate tasting opportunity as well as don't miss the Sweet Charlie Chaplin Chocolate Shoes - what a tribute to Charlie!

Chocolatier Blaise Poyet led our chocolate experience at Laderach in Vevey. He led the class in English and was witty with a good sense of humor. We attended with our 2 teenage sons and learned about how chocolate is created, followed by a chocolate tasting so you can recognize the difference in chocolate between cocoa beans from Asia, Africa and South America. Then we tasted special chocolates that Mr. Poyet created and you had to tell him which country and what ingredients were represented in each. What a delicious activity!
Then we began to create our own dark chocolate bars with white chocolate flowers and red marzipan hearts.
We have done the Cailler chocolate class 2 years ago and this one is superior for knowledge gained the actual chocolate is better. Cailler is good for younger children though.
Mr. Poyet made it very enjoyable for our family. One of the best experiences on our Swiss winter trip!

Bought chocolate from Laderach Covent Garden, wasn’t sure what to buy was spoilt for choice and then got a good customer service from Sammy who helped me choose. He was a gem I would have been lost otherwise. Thank you Sammy

This chocolate shop smells delicious and there is a huge display of chocolates as well as a small room which explains how chocolate is made. They have special flavors and truffles and bark. They sell chocolate Charlie Chaplin shoes which are a great gift. They give you a refrigerated bag to carry our chocolates home as well.

I took a workshop where I made my own chocolate bar. First there was an explanation on how chocolate was made and the process in which it goes through. After the explanation we got to sample different chocolates. The chocolatelier told us the way to eat chocolate was to but the chocolate on your tongue and feel the flavor. Then we got to decide between milk and chocolate to make our own bar. Yes the chocolates are expensive but well worth it. If you have a chance take a workshop. You get to keep the apron and the chefs hat.

I came to this location while on a day trip from Verbier to the Riviera. Thankfully I was able to partake in a workshop. It was such a delight!
I sampled chocolate from all over the world and got to learn so much about how it’s made and what type of chocolate is found in certain regions. My instructor was very personable and patient as I made my chocolate cow! It was such an amazing day!
The experience itself is very unique and I believe sets the shop apart from others. Making the arrangements was very simple. I contacted them via their website and they quickly coordinated according to my schedule.
Upon leaving, I of course purchased chocolates to take home to the states. My instructor was even kind enough to put together a box of my favorites from the tasting to purchase! Now that’s great service.
Back home, everyone has loved their chocolate. I can truly say, it’s better than Hershey. If you’re ever in a city with a location, please spend an afternoon as a chocolatier! You won’t regret it.

I love to eat good chocolate and Laderach does not disappoint
The only downside is the cost, really expensive but you get really beautiful chocolate
I actually bought two packs for a good friend who is a chocolate connoisseur and he said that was some of the best chocolate he has ever had
So yeah, its a treat and not a daily purchase but it is very very good

This was a great chocolate creation experience. We had a group of 9 people and were each given a mold, apron, hat, and tubes of white chocolate and milk chocolate to design our own chocolate bar. A variety of fillings of nuts, fruits, and candy could be added and then covered with dark chocolate. We sampled mini wafers of chocolate flavors from cocoa beans from different countries. I bought a lovely tin and chose 25 pieces of creamy chocolate to fill it - a great souvenir.
