As per title not my idea of fun but it is gentle and worth it for the views from the top There is a lovely little bar/restaurant at the top too and a short walk to a park with animals/coasters etc which we didn't do

This is a fabulous way to view the River Mosel and the very charming town of Cochem. Ride the Sesselbahn up and walk down if you are able. It is a quick hike down for any able bodied persons, but if you have bad knees...More

We loved that you can catch a chairlift up to get a birds eye view of not only Cochem but the surrounding towns. The cafe up top is also very nice for lunch.

Based on our experience, this should be a great experience for anyone wanting a view over Cochem and particularly the castle. We found the chair lift rather pleasant and not nearly as abrupt and scary as some. There is a short walk at the top...More

Worth the $ to check out panoramic views. Stretch your legs from the river cruise. We took a short hike at the top of the hill towards the zoo/park. It was peaceful, one of my wife's favorite parts of our three week Europe trip.

It is nice enough to take the chairlift to the top of the "Pinner". Be sure to take yuour camera with you. Also a guide book in Geology is helpful.

You should really take the 'sesselbahn' to go to the top. You will have a magnificent view at the river Mosel and mountains.

A fun way to spend an hour or two in Cochem. There's not an awful lot to do at the top, unless you fancy the overpriced restaurant or the hike to the animal park, but there's some great views. Make sure you find your way...More

A pleasant little chairlift on the edge of town. The views from the top, after a short walk over quite a rocky and uneven little path, are really worthwhile. There are also walks from the summit, all signposted. One takes you to the Klottenwildpark, which...More

We took our 15 year old up the chairlift and had a wonderful time at the small amusement park and zoo at the top of the mountain (about a half hour walk from the station on top of the mountain). Very worthwhile.

Read your question. Did your child ever came back from that possibly dangerous trip to Mosel valley?!
