We were so limited on time that we did not actual enter the museum. We just walked around the walls and arches and photographed the unique structure. Imagining walking along the walkway only made me want to see more. Next time!!

It was great to hear this tale as I knew nothing about it and it's pretty important. You can see where later authors got their ideas from! Beautiful old towers and connecting walkway. At the top of one tower you get a good 360 degree...More

This is a museum about a poem. Admittedly, it is a very long poem, which has historical significance, but it was written anonymously, and there are few tangible artifacts in this museum. The sole item of interest is the audio program and the fact that...More

I thought this museum was amazing. That said, let me start with a caveat: The Nibelungenmuseum is NOT going to be for everyone. If you know what the Nibelungenlied is, find the story of Siegfried and the Burgundian treasure fascinating, and/or really enjoy Germanic history,...More

This is a museum without artifacts - we were warned as soon as we entered. Within the city walls tower are set up small stations displaying short movies. At each station you listen to the Niebelungen story on an audio guide. Additionally some historical background...More

In this very modern museum built in part of the old town wall, they take you back into the world of an "unknown author" of the 12th century, and he narrates all of the stories and circumstances of the Neibulunglied. We enjoyed the creation of...More

This is a museum that tells a story rather than shows exhibits. The Nibelungen is a romantic saga of heroes, rather like our tales of King Arthur. Not recommended for young children as they wouldn't find it interesting.

This museum will best be enjoyed by people who already have some knowledge of the Sigfried legend, or the epic poem The Nibelungenlied . The "museum" puts the story in its historical context in an absolutely brilliant way which can be experienced either in an...More
