A beautiful and historic church with a beautiful bell tower. For anyone who wants to hear the bells ring, they ring on weekdays at 8:00, 12:00 and 18:00. Recommend for a visit to Plau am See

Ein Besuch der Pfarrkirche St. Marien in Plau am See ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Sie stammt aus dem 12. Jahrhundert und wurde sehr gut renoviert.
Eine Sendung im NDR machte uns darauf aufmerksam und neugierig. Wir waren sehr beeindruckt.

Schöne alte Kirche mit einem tollen Altarbild und einem richtig alten Taufbecken. Die Bänke sind teilweise beschriftet und es wurde in früherer Zeit kontrolliert, dass nur die dort saßen, die auch dort sitzen durften. Die Akustik ist wunderbar - wir durften dort singen und es klingt fantastisch!

Wenn man schon in diese Kirche geht. Dann zündet man gerne eine Kerze für seien Lieben an. Anschließend muss man auf den Kirchenturm gehen. Die Stufen haben es in sich aber der Ausblick ist atemberaubend.

Wir waren über ein Wochenende mit Freunden in Plau am See. Natürlich gehört eine Kirche zum Besucherpensum dazu wenn man sich über die Geschichte eines Ortes informieren will wie auch eine Touristeninformation. Mit dem Auto kommt man gut ran. Eingebettet in kleinen gut restaurierten Häusern ringsum, wirkt die Kirche größer. Im Eingang wird kurz und bündig auf die Geschichte des Hauses in Geschichtsetappen hingewiesen. Auf den Bänken des Altarraumes sind noch die Gilden bzw Stände sichtbar, wo Sie zu Sitzen hatten. Wer gut zu Fuß und Kondition hat sollte die 120 Stufen in den Turm riskieren. Ein toller Ausblick entschädigt der Mühe.

Die schöne alte Backsteinkirche sollte man sich ansehen. Der Aufstieg zum Turm mit 120 schmalen Stufen lohnt sich. In der ersten Etage befindet sich eine kleine Bibliothek mit gespendeten Büchern zum mitnehmen und zum verschnaufen. Oben angekommen sind nicht nur die drei Glocken zu bewundern sondern auch die schöne Aussicht auf die Stadt.

Während unseres Spaziergangs durch das schöne Städtchen Plau am See schauten wir uns auch die Pfarrkirche St. Marien an. Diese hat täglich von 9:00 bis 18:00 Uhr geöffnet und kostet keinen Eintritt. Das Innere ist durchaus sehenswert, für 1€ Spende kann man zudem über 120 Stufen auf den Turm steigen und hat von dort aus einen schönen Blick auf die Stadt und das Umland

Die Pfarrkirche Sankt Marien wurde vor ca. 800 Jahren im Stil einer westfälischen Hallenkirche erbaut und steht heute im Stadtzentrum von Plau.
Das Innere ist sehr interessant, z.B. die Kirchenbänke für "Berufsgruppen", aber auch der Altar und das Taufbecken.
In den letzten 15 Jahren wurde umfangreich restauriert. Auch der Turm kann besichtigt werden.
