I purchased three bottles of their classic at one time. Two meant as gifts and the other for myself. For the price I expected something much better. For my taste either a Bushmills (you pick the variant) or Grants or Famous Grouse are much better

Great atmosphere, very friendly sales staff, large selection, very clean and absolutely reasonable prices. The attached cafe is also worth a visit. In my opinion, it is also the most beautiful cafe in the whole of Schliersee.

Very reasonable fee to do a self guided tour and tasting. Enjoyed both. Favorite was the vanilla and honey liquer. Nice area to sit down and enjoy the tasting with great view of the meadows and mountains.

Very informative tour of the distillery. Several samples to be tasted. Reasonably priced. Spent about an hour here.

You can visit the destillery and learn how Schnaps is made. You can buy souvenirs and liquors in the nice gift shop. Lantenhammer liquors and Schnaps are famous and very good. The whisky candies are delicious.
Nice place for visitors to Schliersee.

Using our Schliersee Gastekarte issued by our hotel Karma Bavaria, we caught the free bus here. The tour was also discounted with the card. The self guided tour has translated English information. You walk through the working distillery before entering the upstairs tasting area which overlooks their whisky barrels (as in the photo).
I went there with my brother who LOVES whisky. Whisky is wasted on me but it was good to taste high quality.
The Slyrs Caffee Lunchery is gorgeous with a view into the mountains. Food there was awesome.
Staff were all helpful and accommodating with non German speakers.

A trip to the Bavarian Alps would be incomplete if you didn't stop by the Slyrs Distillery. It is no wonder that it has received the awards and recognition it has. It produces a damn fine Whisky. There are many varieties to taste and buy. But it gets better. They have a large range of other products both alcoholic and non alcoholic. The tour of the distillery is worth the 6 Euro. This includes 2 tasting glasses. The Distillery has incredible views and the mountains surrounding were snow capped which made for an even better ambience. I damaged the bank account here, but it is worth every cent. Who doesn't want to drink one of the worlds finest whiskies after a hard day at work? Once you have been for a tour, tasted their Whisky, purchased one or 2, you can have lunch at their café. We didn't venture in, but it looked pretty good run of the mill style food for this part of the world.

If you are a 'Single mart whisky lover this is the place to visit although Six Euro per head is bit expensive for a small place, you get to taste the Slyr's whiskey along with liqueur which tastes like honey.

Don't forget to carry your guest card if you have one from the hotel to avail a discount.

That's what I thought when friends brought me here to tour this place. This is some of the best whiskey I've had--smooth as silk. We did the tasting thing too, which was good. The Liquer version isn't bad, but stick to the original. On the way out, pick up a bottle or two for home and don't forget to try some of the fruit schnaps--I got the delicious Mirabellen (Yellow Plum). This is something to do when in Bavaria that is a surprise for anyone thinking they've done it all in the Alps. A fun couple of hours learning about how the whiskey is made. It's really cool that the same pristine mountain spring that they make their whiskey from is also the town's water supply. Must be nice! Was also surprised the wood for their casks comes from the USA! Make sure to get two bottles of the whiskey because the one I got to take back the the States didn't last long once my friends got to try it.
