The boat ride through the gorge was very nice. Comfortable boat with full food service. Unfortunately the water level was too low to go all the way to the Abbey.Without that, not sure if its worth it.

We visited Weltenberg Abbey as a side excursion from our Viking River Cruise. The boat ride thru the Danube narrows was just gorgeous and the Abbey on the river bank is truly a slice of Heaven. After touring the Abbey, enjoy a beer and pretzel...More

The Donaudurchbruch is the tightest part of the Danube you can find. A return ship trip there is really nice as you are sourounded by limestone cliffs and trees.

The church is awesome and the beer was great. Hard to believe the Brewery has been there since 1050. A lot of history in the grounds.

The boat makes 45 minutes to get to the Kloster and 20 back. It costs 10.50 the round trip. Nice views and it makes a perfect day trip.

We arrived quite late in Kelheim and only got on the last ship tour. Unfortunately, we could not leave the ship and visit the nearby Monastery with one of the oldest breweries. Still, we enjoyed the tour and admired the beautiful nature. The ships serve...More
