I never been to Transylvania but this looks like the Dracula castle from the movies, no mountain rage behind just the sky and not so high up the mountains, very interesting construction, open during the summer month to visit.

Burg Liechtenstein is a lovely 12th century castle about an hour outside the city of Vienna. It is definitely worth a visit! The grounds/ woods are extensive and the castle itself is wonderful. You can only see the castle by tour; which are held hourly...More

The castle is an easy drive from Vienna and well worth a visit. It's in a picturesque location. There is free parking a five minute walk from the castle, which is still privately owned by the Liechtenstein family. You can only visit by doing the...More

We had a tour with an English speaking guide. The Castle has many interesting features which were clearly explained. Great views from the upper rooms. Helpful staff and well worth a visit if you get the chance

I've seen several castles before but most of which were built primarily for defense and war, Burg Liechtenstein on the other hand is the first castle I've visited that is a living castle. This gives it a more cheery and cozy feel than most. It's...More

This is a very old castle located in the town of Modling which is accessible as a day trip from Vienna. There are gypsum underground mines near by and one can combine these two spots together. From the main road one should take a pebble...More
