Such a beautiful place even on a very windy day when it was mistral season. The water was beautiful and you could see so very far out.

Lovely place to stay - Nice clean beach areas. Central for visiting Aigues Mortes, Grau du Roi et La Grande Motte. Also Good for Avignon and Arles and general exploration of the area between Marseille and Montpellier. Fly into Nimes for a hassle free experience.

Nice beach but far too many people. Crazy. There is a beach outside of town but only locals allowed there. As this is discrimination I disrecommend the whole area which is the usual money machine that has lost its charme.

This is a beautiful beach with plenty of space, so it doesn't feel crowded even when very busy. There's lots of parking right at the beach (which is very convenient if you want access to your car) for just 5 euros for the day, but it will fill up during busy season, so be sure you go early to get a spot. There is no admission fee for the beach. There are restrooms at the border of the parking lot and beach, and a few places where you can rinse the sand off your feet (a necessity for any beach, IMHO). Lots of restaurants and shops are close by for anything you could possibly need - water toys, towels, swimsuits, hats etc. Prices aren't cheap, obviously, but if you've forgotten to bring sunscreen, you won't mind paying the premium price.

I was on a tour of the camargue in July 2019. The beach is filled with families. There is a marina nearby. It’s a short walk to cafes. The golden sand is powdery soft.

It is a very busy beach and if you are prone to getting burnt , the afternoon is a great time to go . People are heading home the sun isn’t as strong and the water is warm bliss !
I’d rather go sight seeing during the day and then relax . Car park near the beach , loads of shops and restaurants.

We visited in July for a day trip. Had a nice drive down through the Camargue. Traffic can be a bit slow, though. The beach was pretty quiet despite the time of year. There is fine golden sand and beautiful clear water. The only drawback was how cold the water was. It took quite some time to get in and used to the cold. I and my youngest managed. My wife and oldest did not. Once we were in, though, we had a fantastic time. We were at the western end of the beach and there aren't a ton of amenities, but the cute town is a short walk away.

This is already our third visit and we liked it again. Few tourist, laid back, pleasant climate, sun, good food, all very relaxing. Take your bike and explore the area cycling along the sea shore. Or enjoy horse riding through the marches or along the empty beaches. Visit nearby historic towns like Montpellier or Arles.

We went to visit this lovely place to while away a few hours on a hot, September day. It was a very busy day as the stadium had a bull fighting show on. We had a good long walk along the beach. I was glad I wore a hat. There’s lots of boats to see and many boat tours. Booking ahead on busy days advisable especially the tour just after lunch.

Hey,
does anyone know if there are public showers available to rinse off the salty water after swimming? Or maybe if it is possible to use the showers of a nearby campsite? (and how much it costs?)
thanks!!

Hi. There are public showers to rince off after swimming. But I don’t know if they’re gonna be in use cause high season is over.
Enjoy your time there !

Are there mosquitos in the area?

There are some depending on the area you are in and the wind. We rode horseback out on the dunes and along the beach and didn't encounter any at all until we went behind the dunes and into the marsh areas. We had on mosquito spray so they weren't too bad. If you are in a still area close to the marsh, I hear they can be bad but we were there in May so it was not a peak time for them.
