We walked from the town centre - signage isn't great and its about a mile, but we eventually found this site. The cafe wasn't open and you could see as much from outside the barrier free as you could from inside. There were no other...More

This is different, located in a natural hollow. Largely a ruin but you can see how it could accommodate 20,000. There are toilets and a small cafe available. Parking limited on pavements.

Paid extra for the hand held talking guide but it was a waste of money. Told you about the general history of places like this. The fact sheet that you get was by far more interesting. We could have just looked from outside but to...More

Because of travel arrangements, we had to leave before the amphitheatre was open, but we decided to walk there in case it was possible to see anything from outside. It was a wonderful surprise, because we were able to walk almost all the way round...More

Beautiful ancient grounds. So much history you can feel it. You can read about places like this but until you actually stand there it seems unreal. I feel very privileged.

This is a lovely spot. We visited on a weekday morning in October and almost had the place to ourselves. A much smaller scale than the mighty Roman coliseum but there is something to be said for no crowds and lines, serenity, a beautiful setting,...More

Unless you are a real expert/archaeologist , you can get the full sense of the of the amphitheatre, one of the most complete, (and still used for events) in France or Britain, free from the outside. Easy to imagine the history and the events taking...More

We walked there from our accommodation so not sure about parking. The views of the amphitheatre can be seen from the highest point near the entrance so no need to climb. Good pathways.
