Tour du Roi is literally the Tower of the King and it is located in the wall of Mont-Saint-Michel, a very known place in Normandy, in the North of France. It is one of the towers in the wall and it is possible to walk on the top. I came here with my family (with my daughter almost 3 years old in August-2018) and she enjoyed anloy running in this place and seeing the very beautiful views of the ocean. Really, a incredible place. (see also Abbaye du Mont-St-Michel, Baie du Mont-St-Michel and le Grand Rue)

This tower is the most noticeable tower on your approach to Mont-Saint-Michel. It is the one flying the large Tri-Color (French National flag). This tower along with the Arcade tower protected the King’s gate along with the causeway. The Kings tower was built in the 15th century and abuts the Kings gate. If you found this review helpful, I'll appreciate a thumbs up below

Tour du Roi is one of the sequenced entries to MSM. It is an impressive tower/gate. If you arrive early morning or mid-evening there are plenty of photo opportunities. Come mid-day and it becomes a choke point for crowds pushing their way up the hill to the abbey. It is one of the many small features of MSM that make the island spectacular.

One of the first, of many, fortification towers that you'll see when viewing Mont St. Michel and then entering the Mont. Easily accessible and thus day tripper congested during midday, it's best the come back for nice photo views later, or early in the morning....

This other lookout tower is located above the main door entrance of Mont Saint Michel, from here you will have a good view over most of the bay, but it is not the best lookout point, in fact, somewhere along the path of the fortress There are numerous other towers where the view is much much better. From here there's a huge French flag which will see it even as you approach the fortress from the car park.
