We did an evening tour of Mont St. Michel and it was magical. Though you don't get to learn what each of the rooms were previously used for, you just get to absorb the atmosphere. They have special lights and music which add to the...More

I have just been with a group to the Mont again and I am again furious. I take people all over the world in different contexts and nowhere have I seen such idiotic system. Old people have to walk from the farthest possible parking when...More

The Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel is just a specular and unique site, a must see. We arrived at the island just in time to observe a spectacular sunset over the water and then we stayed on the Island over night. The lighting and narrow streets of...More

Such an amazing place, you approach it by a causeway via the free bus. If you stay in the area get there early as it gets very busy. Anybody with a disability will have trouble getting around there. Steps are steep and many all around the...More

We accidentally purchased tickets at the abbey without realizing we had pre-purchased tickets online. Upon emailing customer service, they refused to provide a refund for the online tickets whatsoever, even with our proof of purchase at the venue. Very poor customer service. Would not recommend.

Get there early. Don't get sucked into the tourist traps & get out before the exit stampede. Walk rather than take the bus...more fun.

Always wanted to visit this place and to experience the walk on those sands. Magical place and the views from the top and the walls are breathtaking. A little too busy during the high season, it was a bit hard to take good pictures inside...More

Walking up to the monastery begins with the touristy location near the entrance, but with each step you get closer to the 8th century where Mont St. Michel began as a protected location by the rising tides. There is a modest fee to enter the...More

Mont-Saint-Michel is truly spectacular and like the Grand Canyon, can't be appreciated unless you've been there. On a 1 - 10 scale of awesome, it's a 10. We visited in late July and I would happily go back and see more in late Fall early...More

I have wanted to see Mont Saint-Michel for 30 years and it did not disappoint. It was an amazing experience. Hard to believe men actually built this. The Abbey itself was a little small and plainer than some others but the island was spectacular. I...More

Not sure although you might get more French day trippers on the Saturday. Suggest you look at the tides more than the day of the week and try to go when there is a high tide.

You can Google tide schedule, as it changes daily, but on a lunar calendar. The steps are somewhat steep, but anyone can do it, so long as they take their time. I am unsure on tickets prices, but they may have a website to... More
