We visited this old town in September, and it wasn't crowded. There are a lot of little shops, restaurants, narrow streets and history. The town or castle is founded year 1200. Parking is near the city, a short walk.

What a lovely little village. It’s tiny! It has a ‘city’ wall round it which was built by the Templar Knights. You can get a tour of the ramparts and you can walk the walls (@12 meters up)! There is a video which accompanies the...More

We discovered La Couvertoirade on our return to Carcassonne from the Millau Bridge. A well preserved pretty medieval village with the odd content cat lying around, that is, until a cloudburst sent rivers of rain down the narrow streets; we saw a tortoiseshell puss man...More

Pretty quaint little medieval walled village. Not much to see really except for some good photo ops if you walk to the left when entering. Not worth going out of your way for - and I'm really into medieval villages. This one is just ok....More

La Couvertoirade... This well-preserved fortified town was owned by the Knights Templar, under orders from the Commandery of Sainte-Eulalie, from the twelfth century. The Templars built the fortress there during the 12th and 13th centuries; its two upper floors have since been removed. Following their...More

This village is very beautiful ,well preserved as medieval age village. But there was no restaurant for breakfast for us. まるで中世にタイムスリップしたような町でした。 全てが昔のままでとても美しい景観でした。 ただ、朝食を取ろうと思ったけれど、それらしいお店がなく、あきらめました。

Nice drive, atmospheric. Windy and cold and ridiculously expensive. Do not buy a sheepskin there. Come to Scotland.

Stopped off at this small village off the A75 in very attractive countryside. Lovely place for a short stroll with a camera. Picturesque place. There are a few eating places if you wish. They provide a car park some 200 yards away to keep cars...More
