Excellent little museum and very informative. Don't normally like museums but this one was an exception. Just enough to see without going into the realms of overload. The local tourist information office should advertise the museum because it's a little gem! 3 euros entry.

This little museum in Via Frau is definitely worth a visit if you're interested in the history of the area. It's beautifully laid out in four rooms - The Room of the Sea showing trade between the 6th century BC and the 6th century AD, The Room of Cuccureddus Sanctuary (Cuccureddus was a large settlement on the coastal area of Villasimius during the Phoenician period) which has a collection of clay body parts as votive offerings, The Room of the Territory which focuses on the Roman phases in Villasimius's history and finally The Room of the Spanish Wreckage, which tells the story of a shipwreck off the coast of Cape Carbonara in the 15th Century, showing part of its cargo and some weapons. The museum is air conditioned and open Tues to Thurs 10-1 and Fri to Sun 10-1 and 5-7pm, closed Mondays - Longer hours in the summer months. Adm. 3 euros, Concessions 1.50.…

A very cute museum with lots of interesting exhibits and most importantly English translation. The first time I visited a museum that only opens from 6 to 9pm in the afternoon because of the heat.
