Dedicated to St-Mary of Purification, the current building was constructedin the 12th & 13th century on a basilical ground plan: three naves and 3 semi-circular apses with piers or round bases. Located in the oldest settlement of Termoli in a beautiful and relatively large piazza, the entrance door of the cathedral is reached by climbing nine steps. It is romanesque in style and there is a rose window in the most recent upper section. A must see in Termoli.

Very nice old church that shared the courtyard with a few restaurants and our hotel. It was nice to see that it was still a meeting place for the residents as they gathered on the steps there every evening.

Termoli is a very nice city on the Adriatic. Great for walking, interesting historical treasures and good food and wine. It is a good starting off point to visit the region.
