Don't go to Portofino. It’s crowded and expensive. In Sestri Levante you have a easy going Italian atmosphere and many romantic places to visit. An excellent base for visiting Cinquetere, Portovenere, Genoa. Sestri Levante is a hidden juwel on the Italian riviera.

Only a very small bay but very pretty, worth a stroll around and a photo op. only a very short distance into the town and a stroll through the shops.

Not much to say other than how beautiful the bay is. Extremely clear and picturesque. Stop by the beach bar below the Helvetia Hotel and enjoy a cocktail or wine while taking in the view.

The day we were here the water was like glass with the sun shinning on it, with a backdrop of pastel buildings. This is definitely the side to see.

This little corner of paradise is a great destination for solo travellers, families, backpackers. Basically all type of travellers. It's a must! Keep in mind july and August will get very crowded! Best months to visit are September and October!
