We arrived by cruise and got ashore and took a land train which was starting by our ship, the route took you straight past the Fort so we knew where it was once our land train tour was over, it's a big old Fort looking onto the town and its free to get in, its a bit hilly to get to the top level but the views are great, there's not a lot of the inside to see apart from a cafe, shop, arts area but it has a few levels to explore and some ground dig areas exposed for the public to see old buildings etc, so when in Savona find it.…

The fortress is free to visit on the outside and definitely worth a visit for the panoramic view and beautiful medieval atmosphere. Even on a cloudy rainy day, it still felt very enjoyable. There are some inside museums as well if you want to spend more time understanding the history of the place.…

Enjoyed a nice afternoon stroll though the massive fortress overlooking the sea. There are a few museum exhibits open for a few, but if you just want to explore and climb to the top for a fantastic view, it is free. Many steps, but manageable. Beautiful at sunset!

Fortezza Del Priamar offers beautiful sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea, La Torretta clock tower, the town and beach of Savona. There is no entrance fee for the fort. But the fort has a small museum which has a Euro 5 entrance fee (entry is free for youths).
