Housed in the Castle of Rovereto, it is one of the most important Italian museums dedicated to the First World War. It offers two possible itineraries: one is dedicated to the armies and wars of the Nineteenth century and the Great War, with objects, photographs and materials concerning trench warfare and the experience of civilians, the other leads to the discovery of the fortified towers and tunnels of the Castle, housing collections of weapons from prehistoric times to the modern-age.

Worth visiting even if you aren't that interested in military history, since the castle itself is worth the visit, with great views from the towers and ramparts, and interesting artillery section down in the caves that were dug under the castle to protect the population...More

I like this museum and its friendly staff. Anna Pisetti is extremely knowledgable and accommodating. It is in a great location in a castle and has interesting exhibits. It is a good place to familiarize oneself before hiking the military trails on Pasubio. This place...More

I'm a historian, specializing on both world wars. I had read that this museum was special. It wasn't. Considering how much German is spoken in the area, a second language would have helped. The smaller museum in Bassano is MUCH better.

We were very impressed by this large museum in the beautiful town of Rovereto. Great explanations. Begins with huge cannons outside the museum & continues with a treasure trove of information and objects. Absolute must for anyone interested in military history.
