We arrived in Positano on a coach tour of the coast and stayed for about two hours. The town looks and its beach looks picturesque from a distance. On arrival it became clear that the town was extremely busy. We (very) gradually made our way...More

This is THE beach in Positano to be with the crowds and hustle and bustle. It has lounges and umbrellas to hire. The large stoney beach is crowded and busy with fun people.

Compared to many other beachs around the world, this beach is just reasonable and doesn't have anything special. In Positano, I'd prefer Il Fornillo Beach, that's just 15 minutes walk west from the docks.

The beach is run as a 'beach club' meaning you check in at the covered kiosk and pay. At 20 euros per chair we found it pricy just to secure a lounger. We swam in the ocean there and it's really something to swim out...More

The above person is correct. There is a podium that has 2 persons there to check you in. I believe that its 8 euro per person for a chair. Bring your towel from your hotel and you're set. It's worth it!
