Typical small, old Italian town. A lot of good hotels, restaurants, good shopping. If you stay for a few days, and have a car, you can do day trips to Florence, Sienna, Luca, etc.

One of the best romantic places in the area. There are some nice and pleasant restaurants. The trip with funicular is very exciting and the view on the top is so beautiful. I recommend it!

We love visiting Alto. It is so scenic and the panoramic views are breathtaking. Lovely little streets to wander and excellent selection of quality food and drink. A must visit for anyone in the area

Jump on the funicular & visit this lovely little village in the mountain. Lots of quaint little bars/restaurants, don’t forget to light a candle in the church!

I would say no we had one which was nice as we were able to get around easier. The town itself is fairly small and there are 2 train stations in town.
